Open Water Diver
Open Water Diver is your first full scuba certification—the course that turns you from “I’ve always wanted to try”
into a confident diver who can plan and complete dives with a buddy. You’ll learn the essentials step-by-step with
Franz’s private, concierge-style instruction so you feel calm, prepared, and excited for every dive.
What You’ll Learn
- How scuba gear works and how to set it up the right way
- Breathing, buoyancy control, and underwater communication
- Safe dive planning, basic navigation, and buddy procedures
- Problem management skills that build real confidence
Course Structure
Training is split into three parts: knowledge development, skill practice in confined water (pool-like conditions),
and four open water training dives where you apply what you learned in real diving conditions.
Time Commitment
- Typical completion: as little as 3–4 days (schedule depends on availability and pacing)
- Open water dives: 4 training dives (usually over at least 2 days)
Requirements
- Minimum age: 10+ (Junior Open Water Diver for ages 10–14)
- Water skills: float 10 minutes + swim 200m (or 300m snorkel)
- Health: be in reasonable physical health (medical questionnaire may apply)
